Let’s talk about the latest trend in the wedding world! Airbnb Micro Weddings are all the rage right now and for good reason. They are private, affordable and completely customizable! It makes traveling for your destination wedding more convenient and gives a personal touch to your wedding day. Recently I had the honor of capturing Philo and Shawn’s Airbnb micro wedding in Tampa, Florida. I loved the intimate nature of the day and the beautiful touches they added to the Airbnb.

The Airbnb

The location of this Airbnb micro wedding was outstanding! The property was secluded by lush woods and garden, giving plenty of privacy and natural beauty of Tampa. The gardens and poolside were kept neat and clean, giving Philo and Shawn a high end looking location to say their “I-dos” and have their wedding day photos taken. It was absolutely beautiful throughout the entire property, including the mansion itself!

This mansion was such a wonderful place to have an Airbnb wedding. It was luxurious and charming in every way! I especially loved the architecture of the building. The Spanish influence was evident in not just the materials of the building, but also the design. The outside doors were tall, dark and arch topped. The details in the stone around the windows and doorways emulated Churrigueresque decoration from late 17th century Spain. But, there was still a modern feel that refreshed the space. It was such a stunning Airbnb to be married at!

Micro Wedding Details

The best part about a micro wedding is in the title! Having a micro wedding gives you an abbreviated version of a wedding day. There are less details and stresses, and only intimate friends and family attend which make it easy to enjoy the day more fully. Philo and Shawn’s wedding had some amazing details that I think are inspiring and noteworthy!

Cream and Blush Wedding Color Palette

The color palette for this Airbnb micro wedding was elegant and simple. Philo chose blush pink and cream for her wedding color palette. It is a timeless palette and works in basically every season. I love how the blush was incorporated in not just the bridesmaids gowns and florals, but also in the pocket squares and ties of the groomsmen. It was such a cohesive and stunning look!

Floral Design

The florals were the main source of decoration, which brought so much life into the ceremony. Pompous grass, small eucalyptus leaves and blush roses covered the circular wedding arch. It was extremely elegant and classy, with a bit of a bohemian feel to it. The texture and variety in the florals made it such an interesting piece! I cannot boast enough about how perfect this wedding arch was.

The bouquets that Philo and her bridesmaids held were equally as beautiful. The greenery draped down with a diverse arrangement of roses and carnations. There were a number of different flowers, in different shades of pink. They all complimented each other seamlessly, while small thistles popped out between the florals. Their bouquets were the perfect complement to their own beauty!

The Wedding Cake

Many micro weddings will exclude the cake cutting, and just hop into a dinner with their guests. However, this Airbnb micro wedding included a decadent cake, that was actually made by a past bride of mine! Philo and Shawn’s cake was out of this world! It was four tiers high, and had intricate gold detailing on each tier. I absolutely adored how they incorporated the florals into the cake as well. It took the cake to the next level, without taking it over the top. It was another elegant element that brought luxury into this micro wedding!

Dog Of Honor

A really fun trend is having your dog as part of your wedding party! Philo and Shawn chose to include their furry friend, Pepsi in their wedding as their dog of honor. It was super fun to have a dog to keep everyone company! Not to mention, how adorable the pup’s bandana was! It was a white material with gold lettering and white florals. It was something that made their wedding that much more personalized.

Wedding Dress

Philo’s wedding dress was stunning! She wore a strapless, sweetheart neckline, drop waist gown with a ruffled skirt. The bodice had ruching, which flattered her natural curves as it hugged her body. The ruching stopped at her upper thigh and the skirt began. The gown’s skirt was whimsical in the way that the ruffles were loose and flowed in the little wind there was. This wedding dress was the perfect combination of sexy and dreamy!

Family First

An Airbnb micro wedding gives you the opportunity of having an intimate wedding day with your closest friends and family. Philo and Shawn’s wedding was so sentimental because of the people they chose to surround themselves with. Their friends and family were filled with excitement and support, which made the entire day absolutely enjoyable! One of my favorite details of their wedding party was how they included both their son and daughter. It was so sweet that their children were able to be part of such a special day, and get to witness their parents marriage.
