Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Wedding
The beautiful terrace facing the beach, the chill ocean breeze, a solo guitarist serenading them, the breathtaking sunset lighting up the place, Amelia & Nate at the altar. Such a beautiful day for the union of these two. As they looked into each others eyes, Amelia expressed:
“When I first met you, I had no idea the joy that you would bring into my life, but I do remember thinking that you were someone special and different from anyone else I’ve ever met” From this day forward I vow to always love you, even when I don’t like you. I vow to grow with you, learn with you, fight for you and protect you, honoring you as my lifetime partner. I love you to death and I look forward to continuing this journey we call life as your wife for the rest of my life. It’s you and I till the end, forever thine, forever mine, forever ours”
Amelia & Nate got married at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, which is a gorgeous beachfront hotel at the best beach in America. They had a Star Wars & La la land themed engagement session and their wedding day was nothing short of amazing.
Hollywood Themed Wedding
Their Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Wedding was Hollywood Themed. A fashion in films book, vintage family heirloom jewelry & details, cinema invitation suite & sweetheart table, and a reception decorated with their favorite movies and tv shows such as the lord of the rings, how I met your mother & avengers brought the theme to life perfectly!
The color palette for this Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Wedding consisted of gold, deep teal, deep emerald, fuchsia and berry colors. They had a gorgeous wooden moon gate arch in the sky terrace which stood out beautifully.
The bride’s dress was absolutely stunning and worthy of a Hollywood themed wedding! Made by famous designer Galia Lahav, the same designer who made Beyonce’s vow renewal dress. Amelia’s dress was part of Galia’s GALA collection in ivory/ blush color consisting of beading and Sicilian lace, in a body fitting mermaid silhouette.
This couple opted to have a First Look. A first look is when you see each other in your wedding attire before the ceremony. Amelia & the groom’s brother, Matthew planned a special surprise for Nate during the First Look.
During the reception, Amelia’s sister dedicated a beautiful song to them which set the tone for a joyful, heartfelt night.
Amelia & Nate’s love story is absolutely beautiful, here the bride tells us all about it:
How they Met
So you know the saying “You’ll never meet your future spouse at a bar”? Well, Nate and I sure would give whoever invented that logic a run for their money because guess what? That’s exactly where Nate and I’s first encounter took place back in 2013…at a bar…which we both worked at (I worked as a hostess, Nate worked as security). It all started one Saturday night as I was fulfilling my hostess duties by walking a party to their reserved table and I noticed this new guy (Nate) was on guard.
I tried to wiggle my way through the guarded area but Nate stopped me and refused to let me pass since he had no clue who I was, I then started to introduce myself and explain I needed to get through to seat a table but Nate refused to budge, denied my request and said he couldn’t let me through (but if you ask Nate what happened, he’ll tell you he was ‘doing his job’ and I was being ‘uncooperative’ haha).
So with Nate challenging my authority and our annoyance level at an all time high, it was safe to say neither of us made a stellar first impression. But time went on and as we continued to work together a few conversations sparked, we got to know each other pretty well, eventually became really good friends and then eventually became girlfriend and boyfriend.
When you Know, you Know
I knew Nate was the one during our first date. Nate and I had been good friends for a while and knew each other pretty well, but eventually deeper feelings grew for one another and we decided to take things to the next level. So we went on a date (which happened to be at a music festival…we share a major love for music).
We spent the entire night hand in hand, prancing around our musical wonderland while listening to our favorite tunes. In the middle of one of my favorite songs being played, Nate and I locked eyes and had our first kiss. Now I know it’s cheesy and cliche, but you know how most people say you can tell everything you need to know from that first kiss? I’m here to say that it’s absolutely true because from that moment I knew Nate was my missing puzzle piece, he was the person I was meant to spend my life with.
It was all pretty crazy, that moment felt so magical, and I remember going home that night telling my close circle of friends “He’s the one, I’m going to marry this man.” I’ve never been able to explain it fully, but something inside me just knew.
The Proposal
Nate proposed September 8th, 2018 during Hurricane Irma. Originally Nate was planning to propose during an epic firework show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL. He had the ring, reservations were booked, tickets were purchased and everything was set…but our trip was planned for the same weekend Hurricane Irma was scheduled to directly hit Florida which then put a dent in his plan. Nate and I live in Tampa, FL so with the news that hurricane Irma was headed our way, we quickly tried to pack our things and figure out where to go for shelter.
That day was pure madness and with Nate’s original plan no longer being a possibility he later shared that he realized he wanted to propose right at home, because with all the chaos that filled the day he found comfort and contentment in knowing we were going to face whatever was coming our way, together. So while I’m home packing and getting everything in order, Nate walks in the room I was in and starts to share how much his love for me has grown throughout the years we’ve been together, he mentioned we had grown so much and had conquered a lot together, and even during chaotic times such as what we were experiencing that day…he was so thankful to know we had each other and there wasn’t anyone else he wanted by his side to walk through life with.
Next thing I know, in the middle of our living room in our 2 bedroom apartment Nate popped the question “Will you marry me?” I was shocked and surprised, especially with his timing because hellooo we were in the middle of a hurricane lol but of course I cried, I had the biggest smile on my face and yelled “OF COURSE! YES!!!”
From Girlfriend to Fiancee
And just like that, during one of the most scariest and most stressful times we had experienced together, we were able to share a moment of joy and happiness within the comforts of our home, and I upgraded from ‘girlfriend’ to ‘fiancé’.
The Ring
My engagement ring is a 14k White Gold pave halo band with 12 brilliant cut diamonds surrounding a prong setting, 0.90cts brilliant, princess cut diamond with VS1-clarity. Nate shared the reason why he chose the ring was because with the princess cut it was ‘square just like him’ and the slender band with encrusted diamonds makes it ‘classy, dainty and elegant just like me’ (his words, not mine) lol but that cute explanation made my ring more personalized, which made me love it even more.
My ring was also made by a close friend of his family who has been the sole jeweler of the family for more than 20 years. She educated Nate on ‘all things diamonds’ and helped him chose every last detail, she then created my ring herself and had it placed in a beautiful Oak wood box with high-gloss finish and beige leatherette interior. My ring was thoughtfully created and I fall more in love with it everyday.
What Makes them Special
What makes Nate and I’s relationship so special is the fact that we are literally 2 peas in a pod; we’re travel companions, food buddies, and musical soulmates. We are part time lovers and full time friends, and honestly with that, what more could I possibly ask for? – I would say the one thing that I feel makes our relationship unique is the fact that we give each other so much freedom.
What I mean by that is we do spend a healthy amount of time apart, a lot of people don’t always understand why we don’t do everything together, but the truth is we don’t always have to. Don’t get me wrong I do love spending time with my love, but we are very independent people who don’t like to get lost in ‘the relationship’ so the respect is mutual and some days we enjoy our distance and others we can’t get enough of each other. It’s a perfect balance.
Amelia & Nate, your Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Wedding was exciting and filled with love and emotion! I wish you both the very best on your journey as husband and wife! <3
