Amanda and Ben’s Oxford Exchange wedding day was the perfect blend of timeless elegance, meaningful storytelling, and intentional design. Their day took place at one of the most iconic venues in Tampa, Oxford Exchange. Every detail felt deeply personal, beautifully executed, and thoughtfully curated to reflect their love story.

How They Met
Amanda and Ben’s story began about eight years ago with a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. In a refreshingly old-school way, they didn’t text or communicate beforehand.
Ben even created a map showing exactly where he would be standing along the riverwalk. That small but meaningful detail later became part of their wedding design, inspiring the custom map featured in their invitation suite.

A Northern Lights Proposal That Inspired their Oxford Exchange Wedding
On Amanda’s dream trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights, Ben made the trip even more memorable by proposing to her beneath the Northern Lights. This amazing experience shaped the entire aesthetic of their wedding day, as they incorporated mossy green and soft pink colors of the northern lights into the wedding décor. It became the creative foundation for a design that felt soft, romantic, and quietly breathtaking.
From the bride: “Ben proposed under the northern lights in Iceland, and I was completely in awe of the beauty I witnessed that night. The ethereal shades of green with soft touches of pink left a lasting impression on me, and I knew I had to bring that magic into our wedding day. Our color palette was inspired by the aurora borealis—the northern lights, it was the perfect way to tie in such a meaningful moment in our love story.”

Wedding Design Inspired by the Aurora Borealis
Before planning began, Amanda envisioned a wedding that felt deeply personal, emotional, and unforgettable. They wanted something timeless yet unique, elegant yet inviting.
The final design exceeded even her expectations.
Their color palette, inspired by the Northern Lights, featured soft sage greens and muted ivory and taupe tones, along with subtle hints of blush and mauve. The warm glowing candlelight added to the romantic, elegant atmosphere.
From their planner’s perspective, the design was “a refined, organic interpretation of the Northern Lights—soft, romantic, and quietly ethereal.”
Florals followed an ikebana-inspired approach, which is the art of Japanese flower arrangement. It was artful, airy, and intentionally placed, complementing the clean lines of the Oxford Exchange tables. Rows of pearlized sand cylinder candles and mauve taper candles created a warm, honeyed glow throughout the reception, adding depth and intimacy to the already stunning space.
The bride, Amanda, noted: “I wanted florals that felt lush, organic, and romantic, with lots of candlelight to add warmth and glow. BlossmCart, along with my wedding planner, brought that vision to life so beautifully—I teared up when I saw the final setup. It was breathtaking and completely captured the mood I dreamed of.”

Elegant Oxford Exchange Wedding in Tampa
Set at the iconic Oxford Exchange, this wedding perfectly embodied refined elegance with a personal touch. Known for its bright white interiors, glass atrium, and curated design aesthetic, the Oxford Exchange is one of the most sought-after Tampa wedding venues, and for good reason.
Amanda and Ben chose this space not just for its beauty, but for how seamlessly it allowed their vision to come to life. The white canvas of the venue allowed their soft color palette and meaningful details to come to life.

Meaningful Details Woven Throughout the Day
What made this Oxford Exchange wedding truly unforgettable were the deeply personal elements layered into every part of the celebration. The Oxford Exchange graciously allowed the couple to replace two photos on the venue’s iconic staircase with portraits of their fathers, both of whom have passed. This was a beautiful tribute to their loved ones and allowed their presence to be felt.

Another meaningful element, and one of my favorite wedding details, was their custom seating chart featuring wedding photos of each married couple in attendance. It honored their guests in such a heartfelt way. The bride wanted every guest to feel seen and celebrated, and for many couples it was a total surprise, bringing many to tears.

Amanda also had a delicate 3D embroidered yellow butterfly on the top of her bridal bouquet. This detail was to symbolize her father’s presence, as she said since his passing, she often sees yellow butterflies and feels his presence through them. It was her quiet, personal way of carrying him with her down the aisle.
These details were beautiful and intentional and I loved how they added personalization, meaning, and storytelling to their day.

An Unforgettable Celebration
From a heartfelt Nuptial Mass to a lively reception at Oxford Exchange, the entire day unfolded with purpose and joy.

The reception at the Oxford Exchange was vibrant and full of life. Guests enjoyed a curated menu, and later, the couple’s favorite pizza from Eddie & Sam’s, as a late night snack.
Their band kept the energy high all night, filling the space with music, laughter, and celebration. It was one of those evenings where no one wanted to leave.

Advice for Choosing a Tampa Wedding Photographer
Amanda shared one piece of advice that truly stood out: “Hire people you trust.”
She went on to emphasize: “Choose your photographer with care. These photos will be what you hold onto for the rest of your life long after the music fades and the candles burn out. Ruth captured every emotion, every detail, and every special moment with such grace and artistry. She didn’t just take pictures—she told our story. I’m so incredibly grateful to have had her by our side.”
Those are such kind words that mean so much to me. As their Oxford Exchange wedding photographer, I poured my heart into ensuring every moment, big or small, was captured with the care it deserves, as I do for every wedding I photograph.

A Wedding That Was Even More Beautiful Than Imagined
Amanda and Ben’s intentional Oxford Exchange wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are. It was a day filled with meaning, layered with thoughtful details, and designed in a way that felt both elevated and personal. From the Northern Lights inspiration to the emotional tributes and joyful celebration, every moment told a story. They wanted their day to be unforgettable, and it was just that.
The couple noted that, “they wanted their guests to walk away feeling like they had witnessed something truly meaningful—and that they had fun! Looking back, it turned out even more beautiful and special than I had ever imagined.”
As an Oxford Exchange wedding photographer, capturing intentional weddings like this where design and emotion come together so seamlessly is always an honor.
Congratulations, Amanda and Ben!
