Sometimes, people come into our lives and we realize they were meant to be there all along. Madison and Zac are like that for each other. They met 13 years ago because their moms are friends and they were around each other a lot. Despite that, it was only in the last few years that they got together. Madison went to UCF and 3 years ago, Zac moved to Orlando. While there, they hung out quite and bit – and realized they were meant to be together! We celebrated their engagement with a romantic sunset Davis Island Beach engagement session here in Tampa and I’m so excited for you to see it today!

St. Pete Proposal
Zac and Madison got engaged on September 4, 2021. Her parents are owners of a few units at the Tradewinds resort in St. Pete. Madison’s father had the president of Tradewinds send out a fake email asking for volunteers to pose for a few pictures for their website. She took the bait and volunteered her and Zac to be some of the models! They got dressed up and headed down to the beach where she was expecting to meet a photographer for the website. Of course it turned out to be a fake plan, and Zac ended up proposing instead!! Madison said it was perfect and they even got to celebrate with family afterwards!
She told me she still has the fake email from that night with her photos of the proposal!

Tampa Engagement Session
For Madison and Zac’s engagement session, we decided to meet in Tampa at Davis Island Beach and the University of Tampa. The University has some gorgeous architecture that was perfect to start the session. We walked along the patio space enjoying the columns and circular arches. After we were done there, we headed down to the waterfront of Davis Island. The sun was beginning to set so their portraits had a beautiful glow from the light. It’s one of the reasons I love beach portraits so much – there’s nothing like that light!

What to Wear for Your Engagement Session
When deciding what to wear for your engagement portraits, consider planning two outfits. Whether you do one casual and one more formal outfit or two outfits you just really love, this will provide more variety in your final images. Madison wore a sweet white dress to start our session. I LOVE when my brides wear white – it’s a great reminder of why we’re taking these photos and feels so bridal. She finished the beach portraits in a long sleeve pink dress. Both dresses had totally different vibes and were perfect for each location. For Zach, a slight change of shirt gave him an easy second look!
