Riverwalk Maternity Session in Downtown Tampa

Amanda and Ben’s story began with a blind date years ago, and now they’re preparing for one of life’s greatest adventures: welcoming their first baby boy. One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is not simply documenting a single milestone, but walking alongside my couples through each new chapter. After photographing Amanda and Ben’s Oxford Exchange Wedding, being invited back to capture their Maternity Session in Downtown Tampa was such an honor.

Riverwalk Maternity Photos in Downtown Tampa

One of the things I loved most about this Downtown Tampa maternity session was how intentionally it reflected their story.  We began at the Tampa Riverwalk, the very place where Amanda and Ben shared their first date. Returning to where it all began was a full-circle moment. It made this Riverwalk maternity session feel especially meaningful. I always encourage couples to select locations with meaning. Whether it is an engagement, family, or maternity session, choosing a place with significance helps tell your unique story.

Of course, no session would have been complete without including one of the most important members of their family, their sweet dog. Wearing the cutest light blue bow in honor of his soon-to-arrive baby brother, he happily joined us for portraits. Between the scenic river views, downtown skyline, and charming walkways, the Riverwalk created a timeless backdrop for documenting this exciting season of their lives. Amanda looked absolutely stunning in a timeless white dress that beautifully highlighted her growing baby bump. The classic styling paired perfectly with the downtown setting.  

Curtis Hixon Park Maternity Session

Just steps away, Curtis Hixon Park offered a completely different feel for the second half of the session. The open green spaces added a softer, more natural setting. There, we spread out a blanket beneath the trees allowing Amanda and Ben to slow down, relax together, and simply enjoy the moment.

The details they chose to incorporate made the session even more personal. From ultrasound photos to personalized onesies, every item celebrated the little boy they are eagerly waiting to meet. My favorite detail, though, was a custom newspaper they created featuring their pregnancy announcement on one side and their gender reveal on the other. Watching Ben “discover” the exciting news again while reading the paper led to some of my favorite images.  

More than anything, these Tampa maternity photos tell the story of two people who are already incredible parents. This little boy is already so loved. He is blessed to have such devoted and loving parents.  

Amanda and Ben, thank you for inviting me back into your lives to document this special moment for your family. It has been such a privilege to celebrate your wedding day and now this exciting season as you prepare to become parents. I can’t wait to watch your family continue to grow.
