Alana and Scott are married!! They are some of the sweetest people ever. There was an instant connection from the moment we first talked. Honestly, I’m so honored I could be with them on their wedding day. They tied the knot in a gorgeous rustic wedding at The Barn at Lone Oak Acres in Tampa, FL. It was a beautiful day! I’ll always remember how wonderful they both were and they almost brought me to tears expressing their gratitude. Alana and Scott’s wedding day reminded me why I do what I do as a Tampa wedding photographer! I know you’re going to fall in love with their sweet day, too!
Their Love Story
Originally, Scott’s cousin (who is a friend of Alana’s) wanted the two of them to meet. At the time, they lived four hours apart and Alana was not interested in a long-distance relationship. Despite the initial “no”, they wound up meeting at a wedding anyway! Between Scott’s cousins and other friends, they finally talked to each other. It took a bit – there were a lot of people around them, but eventually everyone scattered and left them to talk. After the wedding, they wound up hanging out even more and found out they had a lot of fun together. Alana was still hesitant because of the time difference, but Scott shared about his parents’ own long-distance love story. They decided to give it a try!
One of the things that made me laugh is on their wedding day, Scott’s cousin’s chair had a sign that said “matchmaker” on it! I love that they credit her with their relationship’s success!
Providence Canyon Proposal
In May 2021, Scott proposed during a trip to Providence Canyon in Georgia. It’s very similar to the Grand Canyon, but smaller! They’d been dating for about a year when he got down on one knee during a hike with their friends. At that point, Scott and Alana weren’t living together, so they only saw each other on the weekends. He worked hard to make sure it wasn’t obvious that he was proposing. On the way back down from their hike, Scott found the perfect spot with sunshine and red rocks around them. Thankfully, one of their hike mates captured it all on video!
Tampa FL Wedding with Elegant Outdoor Ceremony
Before Scott’s proposal, Alana and Scott knew they wanted to get married. They’d actually already picked their wedding venue and booked it. With all of the wedding craziness happening since the pandemic, it was important they got the venue and date they wanted. Both Alana and Scott love the outdoors, so planning a Barn at Lone Oak Acres wedding day felt so natural. Throughout the day, it was easy to see how much they love each other and how excited they were to get married. Alana and Scott’s wedding day felt emotional and intimate – from the two side stones in Alana’s ring coming from Scott’s mother’s ring to the song they chose for their first dance, “Promise to Love Her” by Blane Howard. I seriously loved working with these newlyweds!!
Rustic Tampa Wedding Day
From start to finish, Alana and Scott’s wedding day felt elegant and rustic. They chose a sweet color scheme including pale blue, ivory, and blush pink for her bridesmaids. Alana carried white and blue flowers and more flowers were placed at their outdoor ceremony site in the woods. Everything was so natural and looked beautiful against the rustic backdrop of the Barn at Lone Oak Acres.
Congratulations again, Alana and Scott! I’m so happy for you both. I hope Knoxville treats you well. Thank you for asking me to be a part of your beautiful day!
