Alexandra and Mike are married! They planned a gorgeous James Museum wedding day in St. Petersburg, Florida. Their wedding day honored the special parts of them – Alex’s art and Mike’s nerdiness. It was such a beautiful celebration – filled with art, lots of laughs, and much more love.

Their Love Story
You might recognize Alexandra and Mike from their Engagement Session at The Ringling Museum last year on the blog. It should be no surprise that Alexandra and Mike’s wedding day was equally as colorful and romantic, at the James Museum. They’ve been together for three years and met online before the pandemic, but wound up moving in together during quarantine – which only made their relationship stronger. When Mike was ready to propose, he did so with a very special ring. He customized her mother’s ring with her birthstone, adding sapphire and diamonds to Alexandra’s ring. It was truly unique and beautiful for her!

The James Museum Wedding Day
Alexandra is an artist, so capturing some of the art in the museum in their portraits was important to us. I actually LOVE the piece that they chose to have their first look in front of. It provided such a gorgeous bright backdrop for them to meet for the first time. The color didn’t stop there, though! Alexandra and Mike had their bridesmaids wear teal gowns and brought pink and ivory accents in throughout their decorations and bouquets to complete their look.

Emotional St. Petersburg, FL Wedding
Throughout Alexandra and Mike’s wedding day, there were so many emotional moments – for them and me! One of the moments that stood out to me most was the pendant Alexandra wore. Her father has passed on, so she wore a pendant that has his fingerprints on it to remember him nearby and have him close on her special day. It was SO sweet – and a wonderful way to honor his memory. I also had the chance to catch up with a former couple of mine, Alyssa and Jose. They were part of the bridal party for Alexandra and Mike. It was definitely special to see them and have everyone connected!
Alexandra and Mike, thank you for asking me to be a part of your incredible wedding at The James Museum. It was so much fun to explore the exhibits together and capture your beautiful day. I loved being creative with you and watching you become husband and wife. I wish you many years of happiness together!
