What if I told you that this Chic Venue Golden Palace wedding day all started when Murdock and Shawnita met through mutual friends over 15 years ago? Not interested in one another then, they probably would have never imagined that they would be saying their vows at the Chic Venue Golden Palace surrounded by family and friends all these years later. Murdock and Shawnita have a love story like none other, and their Tampa FL wedding was just as unique!

Shawnita & Murdock

Their love story began with a tender friendship, and blossomed into a beautiful marriage! With a friendship of just over 15 years, the couple began dating right before Shawnita moved to Florida. Here’s how it went down!

Shawnita was looking into moving to Florida and asked Murdock to show her around. As they spent more time together they felt an undeniable connection, which led to their relationship taking a romantic turn! But Shawnita was still living states away, so their relationship had to be long distance for a time. However, Murdock couldn’t stand being so far from Shawnita, so he asked her to move in with him!

When Shawnita moved into her new home it was decked out with rose petals, balloons, and welcome home signs! After living together for a year, creating memories and traveling around the world, the couple decided to host their families for Thanksgiving in Orlando.

On the day of Thanksgiving Murdock surprised Shawnita with a beautiful live musician to serenade her, and then the most romantic proposal. And of course she said yes! When talking about his proposal Murdock said, “yeah I did all that and I want diamonds in my wedding band, haha”. After 15 years of friendship, these two couldn’t wait to tie the knot!

Chic Venue Golden Palace Wedding in Tampa FL

Shawnita and Murdock decided to get married at Chic Venue in Tampa. This venue is over the top with luxury and detail! This vibrant space is perfect for an extreme luxury wedding. Featuring a luxurious ballroom, elegant chandeliers and unique furnishings. This Tampa wedding venue is designed for couples looking for an upscale and extravagant experience.

And the details of this wedding venue are not only in the indoor ballroom, but also flow into the outdoor ceremony space. With an ornate wedding arch and many classic roman-like statues, this is a stunning spot to say your vows while surrounded by your loved ones.

Golden Wedding Color Palette

The Chic Venue Golden Palace is known for it’s bright gold accents that cover every detail of the space. Murdock and Shawnita leaned into this theme, and centered their color palette around gold. Gold was their main color while accents of white and light blue to compliment.

The bridal party best reflected these accent colors, as all the bridesmaids and groomsmen wore white with pops of blue. The groomsmen had small details of blue in their bowties, and the flower girls had blue flowers in their headbands. Then, the Maid of Honor and Best Lady wore light blue outfits that matched! It was such a unique twist from a traditional wedding color palette.

Bride & Groom

Shawnita and Murdock had super unique wedding attire for their big day at Chic Venue in Tampa. They chose traditional wedding attire with a little bit of flare that added to their wedding theme and colors. I absolutely love how all the little details they planned came together in their attire!

Gold Wedding Dress

Shawnita worm a stunning gold wedding dress! The Chic Venue Golden Palace is layered with gold accents and details, which made Shawnita’s wedding dress the perfect look for this particular Tampa wedding venue. The form fitting gown was elegantly dressed with lace and sequence, making it a completely one of a kind!

Black & Gold Groom’s Suit

Murdock worn a traditional black suit with some gold flare! With embroidered golden details and a gold chain holding the coat together, Murdock’s look was truly unparalleled. To match his suit coat he has black and gold Nikes, which really completed the outfit and brought together his look!

Meaningful Moments

In Loving Memory

The date of their wedding was significant in more than one way. Shawnita and Murdock chose to have their wedding on Murdock’s birthday, which is also his late father’s. Typically this day is full of sorrow and grief, but the couple wanted to turn that around with a day of celebration. To honor his father, the ceremony included a moment of silence in his memory and honor. Then to celebrate the birthday, the children in the ceremony released five balloons.

Birthday Gift

As a wedding and birthday present, Shawnita gave Murdock a diamond wedding band! This was something that Murdock really wanted, which made the present even more meaningful to him. She also gifted his a charm of her father for Murdock to wear on his boutonniere throughout the wedding day.
